Aileen V. Abdo

Aileen Abdo, was born in Amman in 1989. “I graduated in 2011 with a BA in Visual Arts from the University of Jordan. Since graduation my art has been showcased in several group exhibitions, locally and abroad. My parents brought me up with a high sense of belonging to my Palestinian heritage, therefore, in my Art, I tend to reflect the essence of different feelings such as, security, stability, loss, and nostalgia reminiscing over the character of old towns and buildings. I am continuously experimenting with different techniques, trying to make what I feel and think more evident to the viewer in both direct and indirect representational ways. In my landscapes, you can see vibrant colours, textures and contrasting tones using different overlapping line qualities, which occasionally translates into the illusion of cross-stitch embroidery.
